Reel Conversations: ‘À nous la liberté’

‘À nous la liberté’
GOMA 3.30 pm, Sat 21 Nov 2026 (85 mins)

Join us for a screening of 1931’s ‘À nous la liberté’, directed by René Clair. Witty and cinematically experimental in its time, it tells of an escaped convict who becomes a wealthy industrial tycoon, only to be threatened by a former prison pal. The film offers humanists real meat for discussion in pitting the individual human impulse for freedom against the increasing constrictions of technology.

Meet outside Cinema A at 3:15 for 3:30pm screening. To be followed by discussion at QPAC’s Café on the Green.
