About us
Idiolect has been my favourite word ever since I discovered it while doing my master’s in Linguistics. In simple terms, it’s a dialect of an individual. Each one of us speaks in a unique way because we’ve all had different experiences. Even twins develop their own ways of expressing themselves! We all have our own linguistic fingerprint -- isn’t that magical?
I’ve decided to start this group to help people find their Spanish fingerprint -- through classes, board game nights, poetry nights, swearword courses, and other events.
Let’s go on a quest and find your Spanish treasure!
BIG NEWS: I've got myself a website!!

In the meantime, feel free to join Nuggets de español!
But wait, what are Nuggets de español?
Good question! It is a WhatsApp group in which I drop little nuggets about the Spanish language -- anything from tricky verbs and pronunciation tips to fun expressions and even a bit of etymology. It's completely free and will forever be free.
Most of the time I focus on Spanish from Spain, and sometimes I zoom in on how it’s spoken here in Valencia.
I used to share the link here but I got a lot of bots joining, so if you'd like to join, send me a message via WhatsApp and I'll add you manually.
A bit about me: I’m Nina, totally obsessed with all things language. I love teaching (pretty much anything, really, even handstands 😄). At my last job, I managed a small language school and taught Spanish. I also had a group like this for my students, which was perfect for channeling my constant “Did you know…?” moments without annoying my friends 😂 When I left that job, I really missed having that space, so I started this group!

Exclusive Class: Most Common Spanish Swearwords - Part 1
Olegari, Carrer del Músic Hipòlit Martínez, 8,, Valencia, ESThis class is the first in a series of 10 classes which give you an insight into a rich and colourful world of Spanish swearwords.
This course is a multilevel Spanish course: All levels are welcome and can enjoy it!
Here's a little background of how it came to be:
In November 2024, my students noticed that swearing is actually quite common in Spain and they asked me if I could prepare a Spanish swearword class. I accepted, but I had no idea what it would actually entail.
The more I was working on it, the bigger it was getting. What started as a single stand-alone lesson quickly became two lessons, and then three and four... After two months of working on it, I've had enough material for 15 lessons, but I've decided to cap it at 10 because... honestly, 10 is already a lot.
Even though my students enjoyed it, the perfectionist in me still wasn't too happy with the structure so after the initial launch I haven't taught it again.
Now, a year later, I burned it to ground, created it all over again and I'm ready to relaunch it.
Over this course you can expect to learn:
- Most common insults
- All about genitals
- All about feces and defecating
- Children-proof swearwords like fudge in English
- And most importantly, how to make them part of your own Spanish and sound natural, but not rude.
Start date: Feb 5, 2026

Max number of participants: 8
Teacher: It's a me, Nina! :D

Semi-Class: Speak Spanish, Play Catan
New ziryab, Barón de san perrillo 26, Valencia, ESThis class is a multilevel Spanish class: All levels are welcome and can enjoy it!
Do you love playing board games? Do you want to join Spanish-speaking activities and improve your Spanish, but don’t feel confident stepping outside and immersing yourself in the unpredictability?
My name is Nina, and I’m here to help!
I’m a Spanish teacher and a language learner myself, and I am well aware of how important it is to practice a language outside the classroom to become fully comfortable speaking it. However, it can also be intimidating to take that step.
I have designed this multilevel semi-class to help you cross the bridge from classroom Spanish to real-world Spanish.
This class will equip you with all the vocabulary you might need to play board games in Spanish, with special attention paid to Catan, as it is a game we all love to play.
The structure of this semi-class:
- The actual class, where we learn and practice all the vocabulary you might need (about 40 minutes).
- Playing Catan in Spanish 100% of the time, with my guidance in case you get stuck or can’t remember a word.
You get all this knowledge and a fun-filled night for only €10!
Max number of participants: 8
Time: Friday, January 30, 7:00 pm
Location: Ziryab, Benimaclet, Valencia
Price: €10
Book your spot for €2 here. Pay the remaining €8 on the spot.We will meet at a board game café in Benimaclet called New Ziryab – you’re going to love it!
IMPORTANT: For your attendance to be valid, you need to book here. If you have any questions, you can contact me here or via WhatsApp.
