June 6, 7:15 pm - Symphony Concert at Pocahontas!

Who is up for a concert at Pocahontas State Park! Pocahontas is featuring the Richmond Symphony for a free concert. This is one of the most popular concerts of the series.

Note: The park does charge a $10 parking fee per vehicle (not per person) on the weekends if you don’t have a park pass. Trust me, it’s worth it to see the symphony. I recommend getting there a little bit early to allow time to get through the gate and park.

Where to meet: This event is popular, actual location within the concert area will be updated before the concert based on space. The goal is to get a plot on the left side in the middle or back. I will get there at 6:45-7 so we should be able to stake out some good space. To identify us, I will have a flagpole with a yellow flag on it and will put what I am wearing in the comments on concert day. I will also upload a picture of where we are at once set up.

What to expect: There are usually 2 or 3 food vendors there along with a beverage tent. Pets are welcome.

What to bring: Highly recommend an outdoor blanket and a camp chair as well as whatever food you require. Pretty sure you cannot bring in alcoholic beverages but you can buy them there if you want. Please drink responsibly.

Where to park: The two main parking lots. You can easily find them by going straight once you pass the gate and just keep going till you reach the main parking lots. This event is popular so I recommend getting there a little early. Also, traffic at the gate can get a little backed up sometimes for a concert.
