Speaker: Patrick Brett

Cloud computing revolutionised tech, and serverless is revolutionising the cloud. But what is serverless computing, and how can we make the most of it as developers? Patrick gives us some background and live demos in this talk - no cloud experience necessary.

Patrick works as a full stack developer at Brieft, a Melbourne based design startup, using TypeScript, React, GraphQL and AWS to build a cutting-edge SaaS product on a small team. Through this and his previous work at a San Francisco based location-tech company, he has developed a variety of cloud skills and found them to be one of his most valuable assets. In this talk Patrick aims to set the context for how the cloud got to where it is, why serverless computing is important and how developers can get started building and deploying applications, no servers required.
