Kadampa Meditation Center Boston offers an wide program of meditation classes, study programs, and retreats. The methods and practices taught at the center are suitable for all individuals, whatever your level of interest. By following Buddha’s special advice, we can relax our mind, dissolve our pain and fear, and become of greater benefit to others.
A typical class consists of a gentle relaxation meditation, teaching, discussion, and a concluding meditation. The meditations are guided and are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Each class is self-contained so feel free to join at any time!
Our Resident Teacher is Gen Kelsang Khedrub, a Buddhist monk for over 25 years, who has taught around the USA since 1997.
We offer ongoing meditation classes in Cambridge, Back Bay, Newton, and Portland, ME. In addition we also hold retreats, day workshops, and special events, all of which are open to everyone regardless of background or experience.

June 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29This world needs more peace. We can all be a part of bringing this about by becoming a more peaceful person. An essential part of being able to benefit others is becoming stronger ourselves and creating more balance in our life.
This Sunday morning meditation class will look at Buddha’s teachings on patience and on the practice of loving kindness. Each week will include:
- guided breathing meditation
- a short teaching on how to access more inner calm and kindness
- a practice of some short chanted prayers in English called Prayers for World Peace
- a concluding contemplative time

Gen Kelsang Khedrub is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Boston. He has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism under the guidance of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 30 years. Gen Khedrub has served as a Resident Teacher in Chicago and in Seattle, and over the years he has taught special events and led meditation retreats around the country. His heartfelt teachings are presented with clarity and humor that make them accessible to everyone.

Our mind has limitless potential. But we can easily find ourself stuck in repetitive ways of thinking and behaving. Buddha taught many gentle methods to help us transform our mind and break free from old habits.
This Tuesday 7-8pm meditation class will take a practical look at Buddha’s wisdom teachings and how it can be applied to our modern life.
Each week will include:
- guided breathing meditation
- a short teaching on how to access more inner calm and kindness
- a concluding contemplative time
- Q&A time with Gen Khedrub
