Sunday Night Hike

PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE SIGNING UP
INTERMEDIATE+ HIKE — NOT FOR BEGINNERS
We will be hiking approximately 7+ miles with about 2,000 ft of elevation gain at a steady pace. We are starting one hour earlier at 2:00 PM. Estimated hiking time is 3 1/2 hours or longer. This is a conditioning hike and includes multiple long climbs, uneven terrain, and sustained uphill sections.
Our route will take us to the Wisdom Tree, then up to Cahuenga Peak (the highest peak in Griffith Park), and over to Mt. Lee overlooking the Hollywood Sign, with sweeping views of Los Angeles throughout the hike.
Important:
This is an Intermediate Plus hike. It is not suitable for beginners. You should already be comfortable hiking several miles and able to handle steep inclines without extended breaks. If you are unable to maintain the group pace, you may be asked to turn back for safety.
Please bring:
Plenty of water (at least 2 liters recommended)
Proper hiking shoes with good traction
Snacks/electrolytes
Layers depending on weather
Hiking poles are optional and up to personal preference.
If you have any questions about difficulty, please ask before signing up. Safety and group flow are important, and we want everyone to have a good experience.

Please arrive 10–15 minutes early. We leave exactly on time.

Directions
Take the Los Feliz / Crystal Springs entrance off the I-5 freeway.
Go north on Crystal Springs Drive into the park. At the second stop sign, turn left at the four-way intersection (ranger station on your right). Continue briefly, then turn right into Merry-Go-Round Lot #1. Drive through Lot #1 and continue to Lot #2.
We meet at the north end of Parking Lot #2 by the steps.
