OUR MONTHLY "QUEER THE PAGE" WRITING MEET.
MEETS FOURTH SATURDAY OF THE MONTH
*A MERSEYSIDE LGBTQ(18+)SAFER-SPACE Group: LGBTQ(18+) WRITERS ONLY*
For writers at ANY stage/any genre: beginners to experienced:)
*THIS GROUP IS TRANS-AFFIRMATIVE.
We welcome all trans,and gender-non-conforming folk(18+).
ANY GENDER-CRITICAL VIEWS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.*

A SPECIAL SESSION ON QUEER-WRITERS' COMMUNITY BUILDING:)
Run by STEVE BENSON, a local lgbt-activist, and published writer.
PART ONE:
DISCUSSION : how much is being lgbtq/queer a part of our writing? How (if at all )does it affect our writing style?
PREPARATION FOR THIS:
Please write five "bullet points on ;
How much is being queer/lgbtq related to WHAT you write about, and HOW(genre/style) you write(if at all; we are all different).
You can queer up the bullet points: eg make them into a list poem, a story of a character/yourself in five relevant sentences.

PART TWO:
COUPLE OF ON-THE-DAY WRITING EXERCISES (with written and visual prompts)
Reading of these aloud (not compulsory; but you ARE expected to take part in the writing exercises), leading to:
FURTHER DISCUSSION/EXPLORATION of the issues raised.
NB THIS MEETING IS NOT THERAPY lol; but difficult issues may come come up; so please bear in mind the TRIGGER GUIDELINES (see below)

PLEASE NOTE: it can be a bit nerve-wracking to attend a group for the first time; but we are very friendly:)
*The group is suitable/welcoming to LGBTQ(18+) people who have just come out/just arrived in the area(as well as regular attenders!)*
ALL LGBTQ(18+)-identifying writers (any genre) welcome; new writers, via intermediate, to experienced:)

*WE MEET BETWEEN 12.45 AND 1 PM, in the FOYER of the Friends Meeting House(entrance School Lane)*
Steve (see profile pic at the top of the RSVP list) WILL BE IN THE FOYER TO GREET YOU, between 12.45 and 1 pm.
NB If you arrive after 1 pm , ask the Receptionist what room we are in, and knock on the door!

FACILITIES:
We can use one of the venue's kitchens(there is one on each floor;some rooms have one attached!)
Coffee(instant)/tea/milk(cows only) and sugar is also provided by our regulars:)
Venue kitchen has crockery cups cutlery.
U can bring take -out drinks and food.
If you want NON-cows milk, please bring ur own(there is a fridge)
