Tai Wai Station, Tai Wai, HKNew Year's Cycling Event from Tai Wai MTR to Tuen Mun MTR and Back
Difficulty Level: 5 (Challenging)
Distance: 50 - 100km
Time: All Day
Bike Rental Fee: About 200 HKD for the Whole Day
**Please Read Carefully as this Event is Not Suitable for Beginners**
Description:
This event is for experienced cyclists only. It is not suitable for beginners. You must be able to maintain a fast group pace, stay together, and be flexible and easygoing—there will be some bumps as we navigate from one location to the next. Again, this is not for beginners.
Now that we’re clear on that, here’s what to expect: Our New Year’s Cycling Event goes from Tai Wai MTR to Tuen Mun MTR, following the cycling track network that connects East to West in the New Territories. This paved route opened in September 2020 and offers a mix of smooth paths and sections where we’ll need to stop, use crosswalks, and safely navigate traffic lights.
Route: Tai Wai → Tai Po → Sheung Shui → Yuen Long → Tuen Mun
Distance: About 50 km one way, with options to complete 100 km. There are bike drop-off points along the way. If you need to stop between these points, you can hire a taxi or GoGoVan to transport you and your bike (at your own cost).
For more info click here.
Important: It is your responsibility to select a bike that is a "right fit" for you and it is your responsibility to decide if you will be wearing a bike helmet.
