Topic: Working With Triggers Through Object Relations
Object Relations helps us see how present triggers connect to past stories. Reflect on recent examples that activated us and learn practical tools for working with future triggers. (Second in a two-part series on Object Relations, come to either or both.)

As infants, we needed others in our lives to keep us safe and give us care and belonging. We learned ways to relate to others in order to get our needs met. The experiences and patterns of relating continue to shape our experiences in adulthood. Object Relations offers us a framework for working with and understanding these patterns.
When something triggers us, it often points to earlier events or long-held stories about who we are and how others will treat us. Together, we explore how our personal Object Relations history shapes the way we interpret the “other” and how these interpretations color our reactions.

Last week, we looked at how this can play out in the Enneagram Object Relation triads and tendencies in type patterns. This week, we will look at real examples, which can be more complex and messier. What story was brought up when you were triggered, and how did it play out? Leave with practical tools you can use with future triggering events to bring more clarity and choice.

This is the first in a two-part series on Object Relations. Each workshop stands on its own, and you do not need to attend both.
