Our Lady of Victory Basilica and Niagara Falls,
Details
Visit one of the most beautiful churches in the United States, Our Lady of Victory in Lackawanna, New York. The picture shown here does not do the church justice. There are incredibly beautiful stations of the cross, beautiful statues of many Saints all throughout the church. This is a must see practically right in our backyard only about three hours away.
We will leave on Saturday morning around 9:30 am, have lunch, tour, the church, take some time to pray, attend the 4:30 pm vigil Mass at our Lady of Victory. After Mass, we can look around some more or head directly to Niagara Falls, which is less than an hour away.
Make sure you have your passport because we would like to go to the Canadian side. There is a lot to do on the Canadian side, including a boat ride into the Falls, a Ferris wheel ride and so much more.
More details to follow.
Here is what I am picturing so far for activities:
Leave around 9:30 AM to head to Lackawanna, New York
Go to lunch somewhere along the way or in Buffalo, which is very close to Lackawana. I am checking with some friends for recommendations on where to eat.
Look around the basilica. Pray, go to the Basilica museum and the gift shop.
Attend mass at 4:30 PM
Head to Niagara Falls after Mass
Eat dinner at the Skylon dining room
look around Niagara Falls. Consider the Niagara Skywheel.
In the morning, eat breakfast and head to the Hornblower boat for a ride into the Falls.
Head home.
Open to suggestions.
Please RSVP by April 2 so we can figure out accommodations. If you want to decide after that date, then you can come, but no promises that we will have accommodations arranged for you.
