Sacred Harp singing - 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month
Details
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday each month, starting at 7:00 pm. We meet at All Saints Episcopal Church in downtown Anchorage at 545 W 8th Avenue. Park and enter in the back. Knock or ring the door bell so we can let you into the building. Be persistent, since we may not hear you initially if we are singing or talking.
We sing for around 2 hours, ending at 9:00 pm. We take turns suggesting a song to sing from the Sacred Harp, or suggesting a song to learn at our next session.
We have extra songbooks available for use. You may wish to bring water. Dress casually. This is not a religious service.
We welcome singers of all levels and backgrounds and any, or no, faith. There are no auditions, rehearsals or performances; we just sing. Many singers also are active in church choirs and other musical groups. Singers are welcome to attend as their time permits.
