Details
In Star Trek, Federation Day commemorates the founding of the United Federation of Planets and features celebrations of diversity and unity.
While our own universe may not be ready for a Unity Parade just yet, the Roddenberry Foundation is striving to get there with a global cohort of grantees working to solve the world’s most pressing problems.
Our collaborative, locally-led approach to social change empowers leaders among Earth’s most vulnerable populations to solve their most pressing problems, such as WASH (improving access to water, sanitation, and hygiene), food insecurity, and healthcare accessibility.
Whether or not First Contact is in our future, we celebrate the ideals behind the United Federation of Planets by fostering unity right here at home.
Federation Day is celebrated on August 12th, the date the Articles of the Federation were signed in the year 2161, establishing the United Federation of Planets.
Federation's core principle: "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations" (IDIC).
Happy Federation Day! 🖖
