Big South Fork Scenic Railway

Throwing this out there, I’d like to do an overnight trip to go ride a train in Stearns Kentucky. I’m just seeing if there’s any interest now ..there’s plenty of cheap hotels right near this place from like $60 to 120 depending on what you want, I think everyone should get their own room and not worry about booking rooms for everyone. I just posted the hotel. I’m staying at at the end of the post . The location of the train is 66 Henderson St. in Stearns Kentucky. It takes about 3 1/2 hours to do the whole thing. It leaves at 11 AM. There’s three different train cars you can get in. I’m probably gonna pick the one that has the tables in it because you can also purchase a lunch when you order your ticket for $15. so the lunch is $15. If you go to the website, you can look at all the information and what the lunch includes different types of train cars you can be in …if your retired or active military it’s free ( train ride) if you’re senior it’s $25 I guess the train rides about 45 minutes then we get off the train there’s plenty of things to see and do for an hour and a half and then the train ride back and then we would all go Home. The ride out there I would prefer to take some of the back roads as opposed to Highway all the way so it’ll be about 3 1/2 hours probably four with a stop along the way. Just seeing if there’s any interest in doing a midweek ride and event the ride out there’s about 160 miles going the way I’m probably going to go. Just look over the entire website. I posted a picture of it on the ride… I just purchased my ticket and when you order it that’s when you order the lunch as well you’ll see it’ll state it. Mine was a senior plus lunch so it was $40 total and I’m in rail car number 3 which I believe is a table car. I just updated the Meet location at BP fuel 1392 Wadlow Gap Gate City Virginia… I just booked my room. It came out to $79 with tax for one night right down the street from the train ride facility name of the hotel is Americas Best Value Inn. 1950 s Hwy 27 Stearns Ky
