Hinckley Lake has Reopened!!

I have been waiting for Hinckley Lake to reopen for almost 3 years! Let's go have a fun Friday night at the lake and rediscover why this is such a cool place to paddle. Then let's head over to Michael Angelo's Winery for a glass of wine and some snacks.
Boats of all lengths are welcome and encouraged to join this event. Boat rentals are available at the Hinckley Lake Boathouse & Store.

The History:
In September 2023, the Cleveland Metroparks drained the 87-acre lake to reconstruct the nearly century-old dam. That work was completed last Fall, and the lake was refilled in November. It is now open to the public and ready for water activities!

The Plan:
We will put-in at the boat launch and check out the lake in a counter-clockwise direction. I'd like to see how much of the lake has changed since we were last there. This will be a leisurely adventure.

The Launch:
Arrive at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm launch

The Fine Print:
1. A PFD must be worn at all times.
2. Register your boat if you haven't done so already.
3. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
4. Paddle at your own risk.
