This is a magnificent winery so thought I’d share info. It’s an hour from the CBD, btw:

Mount Monument Winery is owned by the Katsalidis family, led by renowned architect Nonda Katsalidis (co-founder of the architectural firm Fender Katsalidis and designer of MONA in Hobart and Fed Square) alongside Jane Collins and Elektra Katsalidis.

The property has been owned by the Katsalidis family for over 16 years, and Nonda developed the vision to converge architecture, landscape, wine, and contemporary art on the site.

The 45-hectare estate features a sculpture park, a two-story cellar door, a 60-seat restaurant, and newly opened guest accommodations.

The wine is very good too. My point is, it’s a cool place to visit, forgetting the lunch. The sculpture garden is great. But let’s not forget the lunch…

“Join us this July for a delicious lunch — three courses, great wine, and a little festive indulgence in the heart of the Macedon Ranges.

There’s something about the cool of a Macedon winter that makes gathering around a table feel exactly right. This July, Mount Monument Restaurant invites you to slow down and celebrate the season with a special Christmas in July lunch — an occasion to come together, eat well, and raise a glass.

We’re kicking things off with a glass of our Sparkling Shiraz — included as part of your lunch — before settling in for three courses crafted for the season: warming, generous, and rooted in the produce of the region”.

I think it’s a bargain at $89 and I’ve booked for 6.

Firstly join the waitliing list and I'll send you a ‘Meetup Message’ to confirm you have a spot and how to pay. You’ll need to send me $89 to secure your place (equivalent to the cost and cancellation fee). Once paid I’ll move you from the waitlist to ‘Attending’ and confirm with a message.

Note, ignore the event full message. We do that so people aren’t automatically put as going without payment.
