About us
The City of Menlo Park's libraries offer a variety of programs, including art events, author talks, info sessions, craft sessions, music events, and more. To make the most of our programming efforts and this meetup page, we’d love for you to get involved. If you come to a program, say hi and let us know you saw it on meetup. If you have an idea for something you’d like to see at the library, send us a message. The library is a great space for community meetups and we’d love to play a role in making those connections!

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Group: The Deep
·OnlineOnlineJoin our Science-Fiction & Fantasy Book Group online or in person to discuss The Deep, by Rivers Solomon.
Yetu holds the memories for her people--water-dwelling descendants of pregnant African slave women thrown overboard by slave owners--who live idyllic lives in the deep. Their past, too traumatic to be remembered, is regularly forgotten by everyone, save one: the historian. Yetu remembers for everyone, and the memories, painful and wonderful, traumatic and terrible and miraculous, are destroying her. So she flees to the surface and discovers a world her people left behind long ago.
Menlo Park’s Science-Fiction & Fantasy Book Group meets hybrid, online and in-person, on the 4th Monday of each month. Our May meeting will take place on the 3rd Monday, due to the Memorial Day holiday.

Mystery Readers Group: Plot Twists
·OnlineOnlineMenlo Park Library’s Mystery Readers Group is a different kind of book group: rather than all reading the same book, we share our reading of different books on a particular theme—plot twists, for instance.
Plot twists are a way of shaking things up to keep the audience engaged. A great plot twist reveals the destination to which the action was always leading—the reader just didn’t know it!
Feel free to investigate some mysteries with plot twists! Check out our event listing for some ideas to get you started.
Menlo Park’s Mystery Readers Group meets online on the third Tuesday of each month.
