What we’re about
What we are:
Michigan Adventurers Club is a 501(c)4 non-profit whose mission is to enhance health and build friendships through our adventures together while exploring nature and discovering interesting places.
Meet with local outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy the wonderful state of Michigan! Activities include (though are not limited to) hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, yoga, rock climbing, biking, cross country skiing, skating, and many other adventures.
This group welcomes all. As we have grown, we have gained many members, organizers, friends and memories! If you enjoy the activities listed here, bring your experience and enthusiasm and come join us for an awesome adventure!
What we are not:
A political / opinion / argument platform. Friendly 2 way conversations are great, but not one sided domineering of conversations and/or ranting.
A dating site - do not join and start messaging someone you've never met in person and had conversations with. If they aren't receptive or responsive, leave them alone. Members can mutually build relationships, starting at events.
Members that do either of the above are banned
We look forward to meeting you at our events.
If you have any questions or concerns, please be sure to contact the Organizer/Co-Organizers and we will be happy to address them for you. Thanks and hope to see you on an adventure soon!

- Hiking at Highland Rec (12ish miles, 5ish hours)Needs location

Hike starts at 9:45 SHARP -- so get your butt there earlyTHE PLAN:
An eclectic jaunt through a mish-mash of trails in what I feel is the most interesting park in southeast Michigan. The hike will be done at a moderately fast pace (~3ish mph) with multiple small stops along the way. The hike will have a decent amount of (Michigan) elevation change -- and we will be climbing some of the things labelled as mountains* in the park.THE MEETING SPOT:
We are meeting at the mountain bike parking lot on Livingston road just west of Duck Lake road. This is NOT the main entrance to Highland Rec.SHORTER HIKE:
There is a easy way out at 4 miles -- after that you are in for 12 miles or you have to backtrack.COSTS:
This is a state rec area so you need a Michigan Recreation Pass. If you do not have one, then it is likely a ranger will put a $19 ticket on your car -- paying that gets you the Rec Pass.DOGS:
Allowed with leashesBATHROOMS:
At trailhead and one more along the wayFURTHER QUESTIONS?:
Feel free to post underneath or message me directly. However, kindly note that panicked last-minute questions trying to find the meeting spot will likely not be answered. Just give yourself extra time and enjoy the company if you arrive early -- we are fairly nice people.See you on the trail,
Charlie* In this park, anything over 1100 feet is called a mountain...
