AI Styria – Machine Learning Meetup Graz: Autumn Edition 2025
Details
As the leaves turn, a new chapter begins for Styria’s Machine Learning & AI community!
Following a highly successful summer edition, we’re delighted to invite you to the Machine Learning Meetup Graz: Autumn Edition 2025 — hosted at the Schumpeter Laboratory at TU Graz, one of the city’s most inspiring spaces for technology, creativity and innovation — in cooperation with BilAI, an austrian-wide Research Cluster of Excellence with key researchers at TU Graz, aiming to unite symbolic reasoning and neural learning to build more general, human-like AI systems.
Whether you’re driving innovation in industry, advancing research, or simply exploring the world of machine learning out of curiosity — this is where research, practice, and community come together.
When & Where:
📅 November 13th, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM
📍 Schumpeter Laboratory for Innovation, TU Graz
Program Highlights:
Expect engaging talks from leaders in research and industry, like Bettina Könighofer, Thomas Pock, and Werner Bailer — key researchers at Bilateral AI and JOANNEUM RESEARCH — showcasing practical ML applications, AI innovation, and emerging trends.
- Bettina Könighofer: Symbolic AI and Reinforcement Learning for Trustworthy Autonomy – How hybrid AI approaches can enhance reliability, interpretability, and safety in autonomous systems.
- Thomas Pock: Bayesian Inverse Problems in Imaging – Exploring cutting-edge methods for uncertainty quantification and image reconstruction.
- Werner Bailer (JOANNEUM RESEARCH): From Frames to Facts: GenAI for Media Insights – Demonstrating how generative AI can transform unstructured media data into actionable knowledge.
The talks will be followed by networking, food, and drinks in an open and welcoming atmosphere — an excellent opportunity to connect with peers and exchange ideas at the intersection of research and real-world AI innovation.
💡 Community Call:
For this edition, the stage is also open to you!
If you’re working on something exciting in Machine Learning or AI, and would like to share it with the community — whether it’s a project, a research insight, or a hands-on demo — we’d love to hear from you.
Get in touch to propose your talk or contribution (patrick.ratheiser@aiaustria.com)!
Join us for an evening of ideas, exchange, and collaboration — and help us shape the future of the ML & AI community in Styria.
Let’s learn, share, and innovate together.
This event is supported by BilAI and the Austrian Science Fund FWF.
