DISTANCE/ASCENT/TERRAIN/COMMITMENT/TYPE: 5 miles or less with about 300 feet of ascent. Road walk, ATV track, cross country on the mesa top cross country. Little shade. Low commitment. Out and back.

If everyone is feeling adventurous we can do the original route but it has significantly more exposure. It avoids the road walk. The road has a 5 to 7 foot shoulder and is low risk.

RED TAPE/HAZARDS: Parking is along a highway. We will road walking .6 miles total along Juan Medina Road which has a wide shoulder. Part of the ATV track will be in the shade with residual snow. Part of it is rocky. The mesa top is strewn with prickly pear. Narrow ridges with perceived exposure.
