Talk Title: C++ - Growing in a world of competition, safety, and AI
Description
These are exciting times for C++. My previous NYC meetup talk a year ago went into detail about three features to be excited about in the new C++26 standard. This talk briefly summarizes the current status of C++26 that is expected to be technically finalized next month, then more broadly covers why C++’s strong market growth — and the strong growth of human software development in general — are likely to continue for the foreseeable future in a world of explosively growing software demands for performance, security, and AI.
All of these topics are likely to generate lots of questions, so we plan for the session to be half a talk and half Q&A.
