E-bike Brigade Roadtripping RT Kittery to Cape Neddick!

Calling all e-bike riders for some scenic cycling on mostly back roads of Kittery, York, and Cape Neddick out to Nubble Light. Take advantage of the power of your e-bike to master the rolling hills that we will encounter.

Our 32.4 mi ride will take us from Kittery to Nubble Light along the scenic shoreline and country roads of Maine's southern coast. Cue sheet to be provided to participants at meeting point.

There are no planned restroom stops along this route until we reach the Nubble Light Welcome Center.

Meet-up time: 9:30 am
Roll out: 9:45 am
Elevation : +1,451 ft/-1,452 ft
Pace: 12-16 mph

Rules of the Road:

  • MAX speed is 16mph (descents tend to be faster!)
  • Leave at least bike-length gap behind the rider ahead of you
  • Use hand signals to indicate upcoming left/right turns, slowing, stopping
  • Announce if you are passing a rider, and pass ONLY on the left
  • When riding on a road with a bike lane, stay INSIDE the bike lane
  • When riding on backroads, ride NO MORE than two abreast, and hug the inside shoulder
  • On narrow roads with sharp corners, stay SINGLE FILE on the corners
  • If you hear "CAR BACK!" hug the right shoulder and stay single file until the car passes
  • Helmets; REAR LIGHTS; and bright, neon, or reflector clothing tops are mandatory for ALL riders!
  • Note: There are lots of left and right turns on our route. We will stop for occasional regrouping and several water breaks along the way.

You also agree to assume all mental, physical, financial, and/or other risk associated with this meetup. Kayaking, camping, hiking, bicycling, and other similar activities pose inherent risks and dangers. Participation in this activity is voluntary and dependent upon your own personal judgment. As organizers, we make no claims regarding any expertise for this outing. This is not a guided tour.

Consuming alcohol before or during any of our events is prohibited.
