PRE-EVENT PITCH WORKSHOP - FREE
Alan Jones from M8 Ventures will lead a free workshop (limited spots) on how to pitch.

Alan mentors founders in startup accelerators BlueChilli, Startmate, Catalysr and Collider, on issues around lean startup methodology, product strategy, marketing and team leadership.

A founding investor in Australian tech startup venture funds Pollenizer, Startmate and Blackbird Ventures, Alan is currently raising a new venture fund, M8 Ventures, focusing on pre-seed and seed investment in early-stage tech startupsin Australia and New Zealand.

THE PITCH PROCESS
Pitches are 5-7min, warning bell at 5min and 'the plug is pulled' at 7min. Then a judge Q&A so pitchers will be given constructive advice on how to better sell their ideas. And spectators will get to see the brave rise or fall... ;-)
Judges will have 5min or so Q&A and so a whole pitch should take 15min including swap over. We will try and get 8 pitches in the night...

THE JUDGES
JUDGE #1: Daniel Eichner, partner SOSV

Daniel began his career as a credit analyst and worked for a decade as a distressed investor including at Goldman Sachs in New York where he deployed Goldman's balance sheet primarily buying debt of distressed companies. Today, Mr Eichner is a Partner at SOSV, a firm that specializes in Hardware, Life Sciences, Food and Cross Border Asian Internet via an accelerator-based model.

JUDGE #2: Tim Staley, partner Griffith Hack

Tim has advised many start up technolgy compaqnies on ip strategy and ip protection. Griffith Hack is a partner firm of Angel investment group Sydney Angels, and Tim represents GH on the Sydney Angels Management Committee.

JUDGE #3: Hugh Bickerstaff, CIO Investible

As the Chief Investment Officer for Investible, (a global early stage Investment Company that provides Founders with the financial and intellectual capital required to scale their businesses) Hugh scouts exciting investments for a Club of Angel Investors across the globe.
