The Father of Time Trail
Sir Jonas Moore Mathematician, Map Maker & Surveyor 5.5mls 900ft Asc.
A fascinating five and a half mile trail that takes us back 400 years into the history of a little known part of Pendle.
We’ll be exploring hidden valleys, searching for Elizabethan Manor House’s and evidence of a past going back to medieval times and beyond.
The trail brings to life the remarkable story of Jonas Moore, mathematician, cartographer & royal courtier born on the fringe of Higham in 1617,
The Man That Time Forgot!
The Walk
We’ll be walking on paths, narrow lanes and through fields, so dress for the weather and ideally wear good soled walking boots or shoes. Carry waterproofs, hat, gloves, spare fleece or sweater & something to sit on. Bring water, maybe a warm drink and some lunch carried in a rucksack. Should be a lovely walk.
