START: Triona’s on Third (192 3rd Av & 17th St)
LEAVE: Promptly at 7PM
END: Spotted Owl (Avenue A and 13th Street)
Please join us for our 10th annual magical night as we repeat Emilie’s skate from 2016 to the Dyker Heights Christmas lights in Brooklyn. The houses are truly jaw dropping amazing and you will want to take lots of pictures. (Don't say "Interested", say "GOING")
This is NOT a beginner skate, must be intermediate to advanced. We will be going at a faster pace than the Holiday Skate last week!!
For now, we are posting this event for Wednesday Night (Dec 17). However, as the date approaches, if the weather forecast is really bad and it looks better another night, we might decide to change it to another night, RAIN DATE Thursday Dec 18th (but hopefully not). If it is really bad this week, we could also decide to do it the following week.
****************************************************************
This is an Early Skate --- We must stick to schedule and leave promptly!!!
****************************************************************
In previous years we got there just in time before some houses began to turn off their lights. Therefore, we want to get an earlier start again this time. Meetup and Leave times are listed below.
These early times might be difficult but try to leave work early as you won’t want to miss this skate.
Options to join the skate (please don’t be late or you will need to catch up)

  1. Meet at Triona’s (192 3rd Av & 17th St) at 6:45 and leave at 7:00 PM Sharp
  2. Meet at Manhattan Bridge (in Manhattan – south side) will pick you up around 7:30 PM
  3. Meet at Manhattan Bridge (in Brooklyn – south side) will pick you up around 7:40 PM
  4. Meet us along 5th Ave in Brooklyn as we travel south - we will be on 5th Ave from Dean St (7:55pm) down to 67th Street (8:30pm)
It is just about 11 miles from Triona’s to the Dyker Heights area. It will take close to 1 1/2 hours to skate out there, and we want to be there by 8:45. We will spend 45 minutes exploring various streets and taking pictures. Hopefully we will get some new amazing group pictures.
At about 9:30 we will leave, and you will have 3 options. Like last year, some will opt to take a subway back or take an uber. The other option, of course, is to skate back. Depending on the group skating, we might be able to skate back a little faster. We should be back to Spotted Owl between 10:45 and 11 pm.
Skate at your own risk and dress appropriately for both safety and weather.
