About us

A group for Orlando's 20-40ish somethings to socialize via board & card games. We play different types and you're welcome to bring your own.

[Closer to Sanford or Lake Mary? Check out www.meetup.com/Sanford2040]

To make sure there's room for others' games, I bring one tote bag of mine to events. If you see something on this list that you'd like to play at the next meetup, let me know and I'll bring it. I always bring the ones in bold.

P.S. If you attended an event, liked it, and would like to say thanks, please leave a review of the event. This helps keep the visibility of this group & events up.

P.P.S. On the other side: If anyone in this group causes problems for another, I want to know about it so I can mediate or be aware of potential issues. Please be forthcoming if you experience anything that you think I (the host/organizer) should be aware of. So far, everyone's getting along and having a good time with each other. There's always the potential for clashes, so I'm making a note here.

--- Other stuff:
*To avoid crowding inboxes with email alerts, and to avoid spam, I turned off the option to start new discussions. If you have a question or feedback, please message me.

If RSVPs are full, come by anyway. Usually, 40-60% of RSVPs attend in person and not at the same time. It's a neat area to hang out for a bit.

Note: Please RSVP if you're interested & update your response if plans change. This will help others get a sense of the event's available space before they make the trip over. Thank you.

What to expect:
Usually, 2-3 people show up right at the start. We pick a game and start playing something that others can join easily and quickly as it goes along.

As more people arrive, that group breaks into 2 games, etc. Some people stick with the same group. When a game finishes, it's common to change games or tables. Walk around and see what's there.

If I look up and see someone standing with a confused look on their face, I ask if they're looking for the board game group and give a little welcome. This head check is about as much hosting as I do.

Please make yourself comfortable. Everyone's there to unwind and meet new people. If you have a question and want to figure out where the organizer is, ask someone nearby and we'll find our way to each other.

That's about it. We're the only group there, until the chess club comes around 11am. There's a lot of space. Hasn't been a problem.

I have my set of games at the front of the table I start at. Others are usually with the people who brought them, who might be seated somewhere else. If you see a game, the people by it are probably with this group
