A winter's day in Double Trouble State Park
Details
Approximately seven miles through historic Double Trouble State Park. Moderate to brisk pace. Easy terrain.
We'll start with a half-mile stroll to the Mill Pond Dam, then work our way around to the Cedar Brook Trail. After that we'll head south to picturesque Sworden's Pond. What are the odds it will be frozen in January? Either way, it's a pretty site. After some picture taking at Sworden we'll head east to a scenic overlook of Cedar Creek. A little snow would make this hike extra pretty but I suppose the chances of that are slim.
Dress for the weather (duh!) and bring plenty to drink. If the weather is tolerable we will take a short lunch break along the way.
Be sure to arrive early to use the bathroom, sign in, and hear the safety talk. Don't make us wait in the cold.
