Day Trip a la Huckleberry Finn (sort of)

Let's see if we can spend some time on or near our local rivers and channel (haha) Huckleberry Finn and James (the character, not the river!).

I've heard great things about the Surry Seafood Company.

I propose we start at the Jamestown Ferry and head over for lunch near the river in Surry. We can imagine how Huck and James might have seen their river. From what I can remember, Huck was a big fan of nature. We could visit Bacon's Castle and a plantation home to remind us of Huck's antebellum South.

We can end with a little shopping and meandering in downtown Smithfield, reminiscent of small river towns they might have passed on their journeys. Perhaps a cocktail at the Wharf and then home.
