Small-Size Group Chinese Floral Painting Class

This is a weekly class every Saturday 2PM-4PM at United Reform Church in summertown.

Each session is a small-group class. This intimate class size allows for personal attention and a calm, focused atmosphere, which is ideal for exploring the delicate teniques of Chinese painting. The maximum capacity for one session is 5.

I tailor to the interest of each student. In general, students can choose a style they want to learn first, either free-hand (xieyi) style of meticulous (gongbi) style. For xieyi style, we work on brushwork at the beginning and proceed to how to use each brushstroke to depict the shape of a flower, a leaf, or anything in the nature. For gongbi style, we start with line drawing and then proceeds to colouring practice and later a small piece of work.

All materials are provided. Both beginners and returning students are warmly welcome.

If you book three sessions together, you will get a free kit of three brushes and paper.
