Transforming How Industries Connect
Details
Health systems need to talk. Energy grids need to coordinate. Government and business need to connect.
The difficulty of getting independent systems to share data and work together — the interoperability challenge — has been navigated ad hoc for decades, but the problem continues to grow. And while industry change is never easy, the time is right for a more complete and audacious vision.
For DTP’s first meetup of 2026, we welcome guest speaker Tim de Boer to share his journey to find and build a solution.
Have you struggled to connect your business with other organisations or industry bodies? Do you wish your industry could move faster and more effectively toward its digital vision?
Tim will introduce us to an innovative open and federated platform, rooted in DevOps and Agile principles, that is designed to help organisations address interoperability challenges in ever more complex environments. This platform, and the approach behind it, is currently being considered by a federal industry body to support upcoming conformance testing challenges.
Through an exploration of industry-wide collaboration challenges, and a demo of this platform’s potential, you will:
- Be introduced to interoperability challenges from the perspective of a very real and personal journey.
- Explore what a solution could look like, in the form of a platform that seeks to create more seamless B2B experiences and active digital industry ecosystems.
- Embed with concrete examples in a demo from the health industry, perhaps the most complex and demanding digital ecosystem in Australia.
- Provide your perspectives on the potential and potholes of this new take on proven tech and practices in our battle to control complexity.
This session promises to be insightful and relatable, with takeaways you can apply back at your own desk to advance your organisation’s B2B transformation.
As always, there will be opportunity for questions and conversation after the presentation, followed by networking over drinks and pizzas.
Thank you to our supporters who make these events possible: Rmkble and Spacecubed.

Meet the speaker: Tim de Boer
Whilst some professionals spend their careers climbing ladders, Tim de Boer spent his manoeuvring to understand how technologists can work together to build the dreams that transform society.
Starting with a later in life discovery of his passion for programming, Tim quickly progressed to Development Manager and Architect, always cultivating a growing curiosity of how to build ever bigger software with ever bigger teams.
As a contract developer he moved across a series of projects, organisations and industries, carefully curated to provide answers to those questions. Next came a conscious shift to permanent employee and associated ladder climb to understand the decisions behind the decisions.
Over that time, he served as long-term organizer of the 2000+ member Agile Perth and 1600+ member Perth DevOps meetups, where he sought to further watch, listen and learn.
That quest continues to this day as a founder of technology consultancy Interfuze - with a new-found joy in AI, a rekindled romance with DevOps, and a calling to spend his final professional decade serving health.
It is only now, after this 30-year journey, that he feels the confidence, authority and responsibility to serve up a concept as courageous as Collabor8.
