B:eats, The ICC, Broad St, Birmingham B1 2EA. - Trump Visit ProtestCavendish Square W1G 0AN, London
NO KINGS! Here, there or anywhere
On 17th September, Charles will be welcoming Trump to Windsor Castle in his second state visit.
They're corrupt billionaires who don't like democracy. Charles and Trump have a lot in common.
Republic will be joining the national march on Wednesday 17th September, starting at Portland Place from 2.00pm. Republic protesters will meet at Cavendish Square.
Pledge to protest with us NOW!Trump is coming to the UK and will be met with huge protests. Republic will be joining in with one simple message: corrupt billionaires are not the answer.
A lot of people in the UK complain about Trump without looking closer to home.
Like Trump, Charles has been accused of corruption.
Like Trump, Charles demands parades and uncritical coverage and won't cooperate with those who challenge him.
Like Trump, Charles is a corrupt billionaire without any understanding of the concerns of ordinary people.
Unlike Trump, Charles has no limit on his term in office and has never had to face an election.
People in the UK have also raised concerns about Trump's attacks on the US constitution. They worry about the erosion of checks and balances and the centralisation of power. Yet the UK is already there.
This is a rallying call to fix our democracy and defend the country from those who might want to undermine what democratic rights we have.
Pledge to protest with us NOW! - Make Them PayPortland Place, London
Republic is joining in with the national Make Them Pay protest in London on September 20th.
Why? Because the protest is part of a wider movement for equality and justice, and is challenging the government to insist billionaires are taxed fairly.
And guess what? Charles is the billionaire-in-chief. He also avoids taxes wherever he can, taking a huge inheritance without paying tax, taking a huge personal income from the state without declaring his tax.
And William is at it too.
We cannot challenge issues of tax and social justice without challenging the monarchy.
Come and join the protest, show Republic's colours as part of a wider call for a fairer, more democratic society. - Beyond the Royal Headlines: The Royal Mint, National DebtLink visible for attendees
Join Norman Baker and Graham Smith as they talk about Norman's new book, Royal Mint, National Debt: More Things The Royals Don't Want You to Know.
This is a live event and part of the ongoing series Beyond The Royal Headlines.
Come and join the debate and ask Norman and Graham all you ever wanted to ask about the royals, monarchy and where they get their money.
In his irreverent and uncompromising bestselling ***… And What Do You Do? ***former Minister of State and Privy Counsellor Norman Baker laid bare what the British royal family didn’t want us to know, namely its extravagant use of public money and general bad behaviour.
This glorious sequel goes even deeper in its analysis of royal finances, examining where the money comes from, how it is used and what has changed with the arrival of a new King and a new Prince of Wales.
Norman's new book will be published on the 16th October and will be available from Republic's book shop.
And What Do You Do? is available from Republic and all good retailers.
