“Metaphysical Mugs and Muffins” is meeting in a new location at Rising Phoenix in Manassas on Saturdays! Are you feeling a little isolated or just want to meet some new people? In spite of these unusual times, you’re invited to meet us in person, if you feel comfortable being with others. Meet others who like to talk about lots of metaphysical subjects. If you’re just curious, we are a great resource to learn about anything you might be interested in. We have a positive attitude, and we like to brighten and raise the energy of the earth to help people feel more comfortable in these changing times. Stop by and join us for this fun, light-hearted and popular event, hosted by Rising Phoenix and co-hosted by Jacqui and Mary Jo. Share what you’re passionate about. Ask questions. Discover something new. Make a new friend. Laugh. A lot. No specific topic. Bring any books, oracle cards, crystals, etc. you would like to share. Or just bring your beautiful self. Bring your coffee, a latte, a muffin or a snack. We love meeting new people and hope to see you soon! They are also free(love donation) For these meetings, we do have an interesting topic each week that we share and talk about. Topics can be shared by everyone who would like to talk about something they are interested in.

Qigong literally means life energy cultivation. With roots in Chinese medicine, philosophy, and martial arts, it is a moving meditation practice that balances and activates the Qi (chi) or life force in the body. Qigong combines physical postures, breathing techniques, and focused intentions. The practices can be classified as martial, medical, or spiritual. It is a highly effective health care practice, many report improvements in physical or mental ailments as well as connecting to their true inner nature. Blood and Qi have a very close relationship. Blood is said to be a denser form of Qi, and more Yin in nature. Qi generates, moves and holds the blood, while Blood nourishes the Qi.

The gentle, rhythmic movements of Qigong reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality, and enhance the immune system. It has also been found to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions. One of the more important long-term effects is that Qigong reestablishes the body/mind/soul connection. When these three aspects of our being are integrated, it encourages a positive outlook on life and helps eliminate harmful attitudes and behaviors. It also creates a balanced life style, which brings greater harmony, stability, and enjoyment!

And, speaking of age, anyone can do Qigong, from 5 year olds to 95 year olds! Any body shape or condition as well can be improved. If you can’t stand for very long, you can see results from doing Qigong while sitting. There was even a case of a person who made great improvements doing Qigong while lying in their bed!

Does your soul need a little boost on Tuesday? it's important to continue our healing/self growth journeys and build support for one another through our community. I know first hand how important it is to have people you can share and talk to along this journey. Many people don't understand it and think you are crazy. We know better, and we know we are making huge improvements in our lives. However, if you don't have support and feel alone, you could just give up. That would be a shame, so with this in mind, we will meet and explore many different parts of spirituality. This will be a free form experience, and will change according to the energy and preference of the group. Some nights we might do a meditation, some I might do some Access Healing work. Other ideas might include: Chanting, card readings, manifesting, visualizations, book discussions, crystals, affirmations, chakras, writing, past lives, Angels, coloring, clearings, astrology, mudras, nutrition and general discussions to raise your consciousness - the list is endless! We will also have guest hosts from time to time to learn about other topics under this huge umbrella! Join us to get your weekly dose of good energy, and we will all rise together!
