What weāre about
Ready to take your road cycling skills and fitness to the next level, maybe train for a big ride? Want to meet people and learn new routes? Tired of riding alone and want the camaraderie of like-minded souls?
We might be just the right group for you! Some of us ride pretty fast, others...eh, not so much. Weāre happy to share the ways of the road, from climbing hills to riding safely in a group. Our rides might challenge you, (or not!) but weāll never drop you and leave you for dead. We look out for our own, itās the BoB way.
In the winter the ride offerings get a little sparse, but that changes with the weather, so please keep an eye on the calendar and subscribe to email notifications. If you donāt see the rides you want, message me and I'll work on it. Think you might want to share your skills and lead rides? Yay! Get in touch. Just be aware that a certain level of experience is required.
Here are the basics: RSVP so the Ride Leaders know that you are coming and CANCEL if you change your mind; we donāt like no-shows. Arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride starts. If the group is ready to roll on time, it will do just that. Have the right size spare tube and pump to take with you on the ride even if you don't know how to use them. Contact me if you have questions about equipment
Make sure to have the ride leaderās contact info with you. It could help if you have a problem on the road.
Finally, fully read the ride descriptions! We have a truth in advertising policy: what you see is just what youāll get. Call or email the Ride Leader before the ride if you have questions or concerns.
We are here to help make it fun!

See all- Marine Drive - Oxbow Park Loop 40miles/1400 Vertical FeetGlenhaven Skate Park , Portland, OR
Ride Marine Drive out to Troutdale and explore back roads in the foothills overlooking Troutdale to Oxbow Park. The route is a mix of flat roads and rolling hills. About 40 miles and 1400 vertical feet, with some steady uphills and some nice rollers, but no monster climbs.
WHO WILL LIKE THIS RIDE - Slow but steady riders who enjoy a bit of climbing, but climb very slowly.
If you have ridden with Tom or Jenny, you will find my pace much slower and more relaxed. Not an "easy" ride, not a brisk "training" ride, but somewhere in between. Fast riders welcome, too, but be prepared to wait!RIDE START - Glenhaven Park, at NE 78th Ave and NE Siskiyou.
WHEELS ROLL @ 8:30 Arrive a little early so we can start on time!
Ride leader: Adam 503-780-5565
ROUTE: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51742888
TRAFFIC? Yes. We'll be going through Gresham on the return leg, on Glisan or Halsey streets part of the way. These roads have designated bike lanes, but you should be experienced riding in urban conditions before joining this ride
PACE: Relaxed and social. I ride comfortably at about 14 mph on flat roads, slower with hills or headwinds. We'll wait for slow climbers, wait at all turns for those at the back, and no one will be dropped. Plan on a good 4 hours for the complete ride, maybe more, probably not less.
FOOD, WATER, BATHROOMS : Water and bathrooms at Lewis and Clark Park (mile 12), and an optional coffee stop at mile 24. I recommend two water bottles and enough snacks for the full 40 miles.
WEATHER : Forecast is warm but not seriously hot. I'll post a comment by 8:30 in the morning if the weather forecast changes for the worse.
AND OF COURSE:
- Helmets at all times of course
- NO ear buds, please!
- Have spare tubes that FIT your bike, and way to inflate them.
- And of course obey traffic laws.
