For many of us raised in codependent and enmeshed family systems, the word “no” was completely removed from our vocabulary. In order to survive, we learned to dissociate from our voice and body and lost connection to their subtle messages that are here to help us choose and discern.

We were taught to suppress and even fear our own anger because it made us easier control. We learned that emotional caretaking, obligation and expectation were required to receive love, belonging and connection. We even began to believe we must be unworthy of our sovereign autonomy and choosing our delight because it was the only way to make sense of all the boundary ruptures, manipulation and abuse.

But as adults we no longer live without agency like we did when we were children. And if you’re here, reading these words, perhaps you’re **ready to reclaim your *capacity to choose. ***To lay down the old patterns of people pleasing and self-betrayal, with gratitude for how they helped you survive, but oh so ready to unlearn them so you can begin to consciously build a life you love to live.
