About us
Welcome to Adventure People! This group is for everyone who loves to hike, kayak, rock climb, and anything that gets us outdoors. We have a great team of organizers who schedule local outdoor activities, social events, and weekend camping trips. We also do small group trips to destinations around the world.
Some of the things we've done include watching the Northern Lights in Iceland, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, rappelling down waterfalls in Costa Rica, trekking on a glacier in Argentina, hiking the W Trek in Chile, climbing a volcano in Hawaii, visiting the country's national parks, exploring the world's most spectacular caves in Vietnam, salsa dancing lessons in Cuba, and that's just a few.
Adventure People all have one thing in common, we want to travel the world and have fun doing it. We're explorers, not tourists. Regardless of where you go and what you do, it's the people you share the experience with that you'll remember the most. What you'll find in Adventure People is that we're a fun, active, adventurous, welcoming group of friends. By joining our community and participating in our local and international trips, you'll not only have a new group of friends but new travel companions with whom you'll want to share more experiences. That's why you'll always see repeat travelers on all of our trips!

Montecito Coast Exploring: Miramar Beach, Rosewood Miramar Beach Resort
Miramar Beach, Eucalyptus Lane and Edgecliff Lane, Montecito, CA, USExploring trips to the shorelines at very low tides at Santa Barbara, Ellwood Mesa, Shell Beach, Surf Beach had been very interesting and exciting. I got to see unique coastline features that were submerged or inaccessible at higher tides.
On this exploring trip, I want to explore the coastlines at Miramar Beach, Hammond’s Beach, and Butterfly Beach in Montecito, and westward to East Beach in Santa Barbara. I am also interested to check out Rosewood Miramar Beach Resort, Four Seasons Resort, and residential neighborhoods in this very scenic and distinctive area.
This is an urban and scenic coastal exploring hike, nature photography of various species of seabirds and low tide geographical features. I expect this trip to be very scenic, unique, fun and exciting.
If you are also fascinated by nature, passionate about exploring in beautiful places, committed to health, fitness & agility, and meet the quality below by self assessment, you are welcome to submit your intent to join.

Paradise Beach & Point Sal Ridge: Hike, Explore, Fish & Sashimi
Point Sal Trailhead, Point Sal Road, Guadalupe, CA, USParadise Beach & Point Sal Ridge is relatively pristine and scenic. This area is northwest of Pt Sal Beach. The trail has some steep rolling hills, with slopes up to 40 degree, slightly challenging, fun and scenic. The off trail sand dune leading to and back from Paradise Beach is also relatively steep, for every 2 steps going up, it feels like 1 step sinking back. The hike is a fun challenge and adventure, with great workouts in beautiful nature. This area should be green with some early vibrant wild flowers blooming.
At Paradise Beach, I would explore and fish for sashimi. Common surfperch species there include barred, redtail, walleye, rainbow and black. Other less common species include halibut, jacksmelt, shovelnose guitarfish, leopard shark, and bat ray.
Photos are from previous exploring adventures, video clips of sand dune traverse are from Surf Beach. Paradise Beach sand dune traverse is relatively easier.

Explore Ojai NW Trails: Pratt, Cozy Dell, Foothill, Magic Mountain, CD Spur, etc
Pratt Trailhead, N Signal Street, Ojai, CA, USOjai and the surrounding area has some of the most beautiful nature and wilderness for hiking and exploring, especially when the spring wild flowers are blooming, and before hot summer days.
Matilija Creek & Canyon to Matilija Falls, Santa Paula Punchbowls by creek traverse to Jackson Falls, Pratt Trail Nordhoff Peak Gridley Trail Loop, these are some of the most beautiful and exciting local hikes.
On this trip, we are partnering with Liron, Ventura Hiking 30s to 40s. There are two options. First is to do Pratt, Cozy Dell & Foothill, 5.5 miles, 1500’ climb & descent, and return with Liron. The second option is a more extended version of exploring, continue on with me, tentatively about 10-12 miles, 3000’ climb & descent, exploring Cozy Dell to Hwy 33, Cozy Dell Spur, Magic Mountain Loop, off trail exploring, plus optional boulder climbing.
I am testing out these options so that more people can participate, and introduce them to more strenuous exploring adventures. Some of the adventures that I have in mind in the near future include Topatopa Bluff & Sisar Peaks with overnight camping at White Ledge Camp, Kennedy Ridge Trail, Santa Paula Puchbowls to Jackson Falls, and many wild & stunningly beautiful places in Matilija Wilderness.
