About us
Welcome to Scrambled Legs and a Pint.
We are primarily a hiking group with the aim to hike, paddle, camp and even enjoy a pub, cafe or anywhere that will take us! <br>Also, in this time of hardship, we as a group are proud to be using half of the proceeds to support local food banks and soup kitchens. Any donations on top of walk fees are welcome, be the spare change or (non-perishable) food items dropped off at the walk.
If you enjoy a good banter, great company, being outdoors with similar folk and most importantly fun and laughter, we may just be the group you are looking to get involved with.
Come prepared with a hot drink and a smile! All we ask is respect for fellow hikers and the environment we all enjoy so much.
If you have any questions please message one of the co-organisers or myself and we will be more than happy to help.
Whether you're a first timer or a seasoned regular, you will always be made to feel very welcome.
Let the fun begin! 😊

Showborough House Gardens & Scultpture Exhibition
Showborough House,, Twyning, GL20 6DN, GBFancy a day out that’s equal parts fresh air, fabulous art, and just a tiny bit of “what on earth is that sculpture?” 🤔✨
Join us for a brilliant trip to Showborough House & Sculpture Gardens—where the gardens are gorgeous, the sculptures are wonderfully weird (in the best way), and there’s something around every corner to make you smile… or scratch your head! Where art pops up in the most unexpected places and every corner of the garden has something to surprise you!
Take a leisurely wander, spend time with friends, and don’t be surprised if your phone battery takes a hit—there are far too many “ooh, I need a photo of that!” moments to resist 📸 Perfect for art lovers, garden wanderers, and anyone who just fancies a great day out with good company and plenty of fresh countryside air.
📅 Date: Saturday 30th May 2026
🕘 10:30 to 12:30 plus time at the pub (optional)
FREE entry but donations welcomeTHE PUB (optional)
We will head to the Fleet Inn afterwards for a drink, and perhaps a bite to eat for those who wish to. It's a lovely pub, right by the river, great views and good food. You need to make your own way to the pub - it's a short drive.
We won't be booking a table at the pub but hopefully we can still go for a drink.
Book your spot for this event now—because let’s be honest, it’s better than staying home arguing with the kettle and making your own cake 😉
Now for the nitty gritty stuff:
A £1 donation towards our food bank collection is very much appreciated. Please send it to richadwivedi@gmail.com (please use friends & family option and add ‘Showborough’ as a note on your payment).
Any questions, please ask.PARKING
1. Showborough has ample parking in the field. There are self-service beverages and snacks (please find cash for this) and plenty of places to sit in the garden. Not all areas are accessible by wheelchair. Dogs are allowed in the field but not the garden. Entry free, donations welcome. Booking not required.
HOW TO FIND US
2. Our address is Showborough House, Twyning, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire GL20 6DN. Satnav is unreliable but Showborough is on Google maps and is signposted at Hillend off the Twyning to Pershore road. what3words address is animals.sunroof.serenade.PICNICS
3. Picnics are not allowed in the garden. Visitors are welcome to picnic in the car park field.
HOW LONG TO ALLOW
4. If you were to hurry past each exhibit you could be round in 30 minutes. Most people amble to take in the plants, have a good look at the art they like, and sit down with their friends for a drink and a chat. That takes about 2 hours. Some people have come for a short visit and ended up staying for 4 hours.39 attendees
*5 SPACES AVAILABLE* Bunkhouse weekend in Snowdonia.
A5 near MCNW's bunkhouse, Capel Curig, Conwy, Wales, LL24 0ES, United Kingdom, A5 near MCNW's bunkhouse, Capel Curig, Capel Curig, GB** A BUNKHOUSE TRIP IN SNOWDONIA **
Join the waitlist, then pay, and you will then be transferred to Going. This is going to be a fab trip with 3 nights away in Snowdonia, using the Mountaineering Club of North Wales MCNW clubs bunkhouse hut in the Ogwen valley. I have been a member of the MCNW since the 1990s and walked nearly all the mountains in the national park. Ogwen is truly wonderful part of North Wales. This June trip will offer plenty of daylight and hopefully not too much rain!
Please READ THE FULL DETAILS before signing up. There will be only 8 to 10 spots available for this trip. This trip is probably aimed at the more serious hikers amongst you, who don't mind a good, though not too tough, hike in the mountains.
High and mid level walks are possible directly from the hut. Some easy scrambling could be combined to give you a real mountain experience. Safety first always. Tryfan and the Glyders Cantilever stone are across the valley and direct access to Pen Helgi Du and the Carnedds behind the hut. Or just chill out and enjoy the view. Walks will NOT be of the route-march variety!!
*Dates*
Depart Thursday from Gloucestershire Thurs 11th June and return Sunday 14th June.
Departure times to be flexible to be arranged but I suggest mid afternoon latest on the 11th. Lift share is essential as it is a 300mile round trip.*Location & How To Get There*

Location shown on the map is where you turn off the A5, after passing through Capel Curig. Full details provided to those booking and paying. It is essential you are willing to join a WhatsApp group to liaise on shared transport and provide info. I wouldn’t recommend arriving after dark for the first visit as final access is not obvious and through the farm.*Accommodation*
The hut is basic but has a fully equipped modern kitchen, two bunkrooms, common room, and drying rooms. Two outside loos with wash basins, two indoor wash basins but no shower facility, although showers are available by asking at a campsite a mile down the main road. As it is a bunkhouse, please be prepared to share a room; the sleeping arrangement is bunkbeds. Ear-plugs are advised (ha).*What To Bring*
You will need a indoor type sleeping bag and a pillow case; pillows are provided. You will also need walking boots, full wet weather clothing, and a rucksack. Plus enough food and clothing for the weekend - 3 breakfasts, 3 packed lunches plus your evening meals, though there are pubs in Capel Curig we could utilise! Nearest shop is 5miles way so please come prepared.*Costs & Car Sharing*
The fee for the accommodation is payable in advance and non-refundable unless the event is cancelled. If you secure a space and can no longer attend, you will need to find someone to take your place or forfeit the deposit. This will be an approx 300-mile round trip, and parking is limited at the hut, so lift sharing is essential and volunteers will be needed to drive - perhaps 3 or 4 people per car.
