What we’re about
You know that feeling when the lights go down, the first chord hits, and you realize you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be? Yeah, us too. Setlist Social is for people who live for that moment—whether it’s at a tiny DIY spot, a packed Mission Ballroom show, or somewhere halfway up the hill at Red Rocks.
If you've been curating playlists for over a decade, drive to Indie 102.3, still check Pitchfork (even when you disagree), and occasionally find yourself deep in a Gorilla vs. Bear rabbit hole, you’re our kind of people.
What to Expect:
- 🎶 Catching the best shows—indie gems, buzzy up-and-comers, and big-name legends around Denver.
- 🍻 Pre-show hangs—because concerts are better with good company.
- 📀 Music deep dives—debating albums, swapping playlists, and sharing experiences.
- 🎭 Exploring Denver’s creative scene—vinyl digs, art pop-ups, weird little bars.
- 👥 This one’s for the grownups—25+. We love you, next generation, but let’s be real—friendship is easier when you're at a similar point in life. We’re all balancing work, passions, and the occasional late-night show (that we’ll regret the next morning). We love knowing exactly where to park and maybe sneaking out before the encore (just once). No age cap, though—if you’re still excited to stand in the pit, we’re excited to stand next to you.
A Few Simple Rules:
- 📸 Use your real name & clear picture of your face. We’re here for music, not mystery.
- ✅ RSVP responsibly. Two no-shows and you’re ghosting yourself. Really though, we count no-shows and may not invite you back after a couple.
- 😷 Stay home if you're sick.
Finally, support keeps us going: Setlist Social is a labor of love—Meetup organizers pay $360/year out of pocket to host. If you’re able, we suggest a $5 donation per event or $20/year to help keep the events coming. 💖

See all- 📡 Omni @ Hi-DiveHi-Dive, Denver, CO
Omni deals in tight, wiry post-punk that twitches, turns, and never sits still. Their songs are full of nervy rhythms, choppy riffs, and deadpan charm, like vintage Television played through a drum machine and a smirk.
> “This Atlanta band makes precision feel punk—jagged, jittery, and weirdly danceable.”
> Read more: Pitchfork- 🔹 Who They Are: An Atlanta trio with a math-rock brain and a garage-rock heart, known for short songs that say a lot without wasting a second.
- 🔹 If You Like: Parquet Courts, Wire, Devo, Bodega
- 🔹 Essential Track: “Equestrian” — off-kilter hooks and angular riffs that somehow still groove.
- 🔹 Must-Listen Album: Networker — lean, smart, and endlessly twitchy.
- 🎤 Why This Show? If you like your guitars clean, your tempos quick, and your lyrics delivered like inside jokes, Omni’s a midweek jolt of exactly that.
- 📍 Meetup Plan: Meet at Sputnik at 7:00 PM for pierogis and pre-show cocktails before crossing the street to Hi-Dive.
- 🎟️ Tickets: $18 at Hi-Dive
Q: What's the RSVP policy?
A: RSVP etiquette is crucial! No-shows can throw off the vibe of the event, so we kindly ask that you shoot the host a message or un-RSVP before the event starts if you can't make it. Two no-shows may result in removal from the group.Q: How can I support?
A: Did you know that your humble organizers pay about $360 a year to bring events to you on Meetup? A tiny annual donation from you is all it takes to keep the events coming. Suggested donation is $5/event or $20 for unlimited events. Just send a Venmo/Paypal to me @mandirao (or ask me for Zelle). Couldn't do it without you! - 🌹 Father John Misty @ Mission BallroomThe Mission Ballroom, Denver, CO
Father John Misty delivers lush, theatrical folk-rock that’s as tender as it is tongue-in-cheek. His shows feel like part lounge act, part existential sermon—grand, ironic, romantic, and slightly unhinged. If you like your ballads poetic and your banter razor-sharp, this one’s for you.
> “Josh Tillman croons like a fallen angel, swaddled in strings and sarcasm.”
> Read more: Pitchfork- 🔹 Who He Is: The alter ego of Josh Tillman (ex-Fleet Foxes drummer), FJM crafts sweeping orchestral folk layered with wit, cynicism, and the occasional existential crisis.
- 🔹 If You Like: Fleet Foxes, Weyes Blood, Leonard Cohen, Rufus Wainwright
- 🔹 Essential Track: “Holy Shit” — part hymn, part breakdown, part thesis on modern romance.
- 🔹 Must-Listen Album: I Love You, Honeybear — a dizzying, devastating love story told in string sections and smirks.
- 🎤 Why This Show? Because sometimes you need your Sunday service delivered in a velvet blazer with a side of satire and a 10-piece band.
- 📍 Meetup Plan: Meet at Brew Dog at 6:30 PM for pre-show drinks and philosophy before heading into the ballroom.
- 🎟️ Tickets: $65 at AXS.
This may be a DIY event 🔥
As a top-voted show for our group, this possibly-DIY meetup is a chance to connect—even if I can’t (yet) commit to hosting it myself! Plan to make it your own, using the comments to coordinate. And maybe I'll be able to commit soon.Q: What's the RSVP policy?

Couldn't do it without you! - 🪕 Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds @Red RocksRed Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, CO
Sturgill Simpson has a new name and a new band—but the voice, the vision, and the edge are still unmistakable. Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds marks a fresh chapter, with no opener, no fuss, and a full set of brand-new material under the Red Rocks sky. But also yes they'll also play material from Sturgill's entire catalogue.
“This isn’t Sturgill 2.0—it’s something darker, weirder, and totally its own beast.” Read more: sturgillsimpson.com
- 🔹 Who He Is: Country rebel turned genre bender, now ditching the name for something wilder. Johnny Blue Skies is Simpson’s raw, back-to-the-roots alter ego.
- 🔹 If You Like: Waylon Jennings with a fuzz pedal, My Morning Jacket with more bourbon, swamp rock with an existential edge
- 🔹 Essential Track: “Swamp of Sadness” — heavy groove, haunted vocals, pure Southern noir
- 🔹 Must-Listen Album: Passage du Desir — the first under the new name, and a full sonic rebirth
- 🎤 Why This Show? Because how often do you get to witness a musical resurrection on one of the most iconic stages in the world? If you’ve ever loved Metamodern Sounds or Sound & Fury, this is where it all collides.
- 📍 Meetup Plan: All seats are GA and there is no opener. Doors open at 5:45p so we’re getting there early to sit together. If you roll in late, we can't guarantee holding spots (but you'll be with us in spirit). Possible tailgate TBD as the date approaches—stay tuned in the thread.
- 🎟️ Need a ticket or have extras? Sound off in the comments—some of us may have spares from the fan presale. The band did a great job keeping them out of the hands of scalpers.

Couldn't do it without you! - 📚 English Teacher @Lost Lake LoungeLost Lake Lounge, Denver, CO
One of the UK’s most exciting new bands is somehow playing Lost Lake—and we’re not questioning it. English Teacher makes sharp, cerebral post-punk with real emotional weight, pairing deadpan wit with sprawling, unpredictable arrangements. Catching them in a room this small feels like a lucky glitch in the system.
> “English Teacher sound like the future of British guitar music—angular, anxious, and unafraid.”
> Read more: The Guardian- 🔹 Who They Are: A Leeds-based four-piece blending post-punk, spoken word, and moody art-rock with a literary twist.
- 🔹 If You Like: Dry Cleaning, black midi, Yard Act, Porridge Radio
- 🔹 Essential Track: “The World’s Biggest Paving Slab” — part anthem, part existential spiral.
- 🔹 Must-Listen Album: This Could Be Texas — layered, poetic, and quietly devastating.
- 🎤 Why This Show? They’ve already played Glastonbury and sold out UK tours—seeing them in a room that fits 100 is a rare kind of magic.
- 📍 Meetup Plan: Meet at Middleman at 6:30 PM for pre-show drinks, then walk over to Lost Lake for a front-row view you won’t get again.
- 🎟️ Tickets: $18 – get one before it sells out (it will)
