About us
We are a social walking club based in Sheffield aimed at people in their 20s and 30s. The group has been around since July 2002 and has been growing steadily ever since – currently we have around 200 members! We are part of the Ramblers, Britain's largest walking charity.
We're always on the lookout for new members, so please book on to a walk or social, or come along to one of our monthly New Members' Nights.

Being a Ramblers affiliated group we encourage our participants to join the Ramblers Association. This allows you to attend our great weekends away and get other Ramblers benefits. It also helps support the great work that Ramblers do to keep the countryside open to all and to fight for the things that matter most to walkers. We have walks of varying lengths every weekend in the Peak District or the South Yorkshire countryside.
We have an active Socials programme ranging from meals out and cinema trips to dancing and pool championships, not to mention a Easter Egg, Pub Hunt and a Christmas Party every year. There's something for everyone!
We organise weekends away to beautiful locations across the UK such as Snowdonia, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. They're a great opportunity to see some of the most picturesque parts of the country and take a break from work and the city for a very reasonable price.
We’re a Ramblers group run by volunteers who we rely on to keep it going. There are lots of ways to get involved, so if you’d like to lead a walk, organise a social or join the committee, we’d love to hear from you!

From the car park, we'll cross the A57 and up to the top of Blackbrook Wood, and then it's along parallel to the river for a while before dropping down at The Hagg, and then it's back along the river to return to the starting point.While I'm expecting to have this walk finished before it goes dark, please bring a torch.

A linear walk from the outskirts of Sheffield to the ever popular village of Bakewell.
The route begins by crossing Totley Moor, passing through Longshaw Estate and descending the scenic Padley Gorge. From Grindleford we'll follow the river to Calver before turning southwest to Rowland. From here it's due south into Bakewell. The walk finishes on the edge of Bakewell at the river, where there is an option to visit the Thornbridge tap room for drinks and pizza. Buses back to Sheffield via Totley are available on the main road.Public transport or car sharing options:
Bus 218 from Sheffield Interchange at 09:47 or 97 from Arundel Gate at 09:52 arrive in time for the walk start. We will wait for these to arrive before setting off.
Return from Bakewell (via the start point) is by bus.
Be prepared:
Please remember to dress appropriately for the time of year. A waterproof is always advised, as well as plenty of food and water. Please bring sun protection if required (sun hat, sunglasses, sun cream etc). A short walk through Treeton will take us out to Treeton Wood, then we'll walk along part of Treeton Dyke, stopping for tea when the view's nice. From there, it's south to Sheffield Road as we cross the bridge over the railway tracks, and then we'll follow the River Rother to Waverley Lakes, featuring Goose Island. We'll go around the lakes and then cross the river back to Treeton.Additional info: The leader has looked on StreetView and it looks like there's pavements along the roads you will be using.
