Untermyer Gardens Holiday Illumination

Sunday is the last night to catch the Grand Holiday Illumination at Untermyer Gardens in Yonkers. We'll arrive before sunset to walk through the garden and enter the Walled Garden at 4:30 pm to enjoy lights, music, and hot chocolate. Note that we arrive and depart from Greystone Station via Metro-North. The walk from the train station to the garden is a steep 200-foot climb.

Entrance to Untermyer Gardens is free; donations are encouraged. We plan to enter through the back gate, visit the Ruin Garden, then climb the stairs to the Vista with its spectacular views of the NJ Palisades. Then follow the woodchip trail to the Temple of Love.

At 4:30 pm, we'll enter the Walled Garden to enjoy the lights, music, and free hot chocolate. Restrooms are available.

Meet back outside the restrooms at 5:15 pm to walk down the hill to Greystone Station.

MEET: By the Clock in Grand Central Main Concourse at 2:10 pm to take Metro North to Greystone Station departing at 2:25 pm. Or meet us at Greystone Station at 3:05 pm on the northbound platform. If you plan to meet at Greystone, please leave a message in the Comments.

** Drivers, check the website for parking information and meet the group at the back gate entrance at 3:30 pm. **

RETURN: Greystone to Grand Central at 5:59 pm, Greystone to points north at 6:04 pm.

BRING: Water and snack. A flashlight is helpful for the walk back to the station.
