Sketch at Sunnylands Center and Gardens in Rancho Mirage

Come sketch at Sunnylands Center & Gardens in Rancho Mirage. Admission and parking are free and tickets/reservations are not required. Friday mornings there is a yoga class on the lawn that is very popular. Arriving for our 9:30 start time will allow for parking and setting up before the yoga crowds arrive.

Meet outside of the main entrance to the Sunnylands Center at 9:30 AM. I will be there with my beige straw hat and a sketchbook. There will be some time for introductions then about two hours for sketching, with a final get together to show our sketches and talk about our drawing experience. If you arrive late look for a sketcher to find out the time and place for the final get together.

Sunnylands is a 15 acre site with several gardens featuring native plants. There are walking paths and views of the mountains. The modernist Sunnylands building houses exhibitions, a cafe, and a gift shop. There are opportunities to sketch gardens, water features, the building, and people, as Sunnylands is a popular destination for visitors to the valley. There are some benches on which to sit and sketch.
