🚆 MEETING POINT: (start & finish) Hawkesbury River train station - at the main entry/exit.

Ahhh…! That holiday feeling! 🏖 🏝️🍹 🏊‍♀️

🏝 Never heard of Dangar Island? Join us for a guided tour on this idyllic island just a hop, skip and a jump from Hawkesbury River station, Brooklyn. We will be welcomed by tree lined palm trees.
🌴 The island is notable for the only Sydney suburb without cars.
🚲 Wheelbarrows and bicycles parked at the wharf instead of cars. It’s also the only populated island on the Hawkesbury River.
🏖️ The very nature of the village is an isolated community. It is peaceful, wonderful place and charming... So the best thing to do here is to walk around the island and experience it like the locals.

🚆 Upon arrival at Hawkesbury River station, we will immediately proceed with our first walk around the marina spotting for pelicans.
🚶‍♂️ Then to the brand new Kangaroo Point Boardwalk, just over 4km one way from/to the station.
🚶‍♂️We will be walking along the footpaths before entering the bush track and the new boardwalk on a fairly flat easy paths with slight incline.
🚶After photo sessions and selfies at the end of the boardwalk, we will return to Hawkesbury River station the same way.
🥘 We will have BYO lunch break at the marina near the playground.

⛴️ After lunch, we will catch 1.30pm ferry to Dangar Island.

🚶‍♂️Upon arrival, we will start our exciting walk around the island from the Public Ferry Wharf. about 4km loop. We will walk on local streets, beaches, parks and reserves.
🏔 We will also walk up the stairs through the bushland to the highest point with a gentle uphill and downhill with a stunning views of Hawkesbury River. There’s an Aboriginal rock engravings and caves on the trail.
🏊🏼‍♂️ Those who wish to swim at one of the beaches or stay longer on the island, you may catch a later ferry back to Hawkesbury River station at your leisure.

🥾 GRADE: Easy/Moderate on a relaxing pace but not snail pace!
💪🏽 Reasonable fitness recommended for the short bushwalk to the highest point in Dangar Island with some steep stairs, rocks climbing and down hill bush track.

❎ NO pets including service dogs are permitted on my events. You may join pet friendly walking group instead.

🎒WHAT TO BRING 🎒
👕 Comfortable outfit for the weather preferably hiking gear. Jeans or cotton t-shirt may not be suitable for this walk.
🥾 Waterproof hiking boots or good grip walking shoes highly recommended.
💦 At least 1.8L of WATER, Hydralyte or sports energy drinks.
🥪 Snacks and packed LUNCH.
⛑ Basic First Aid kit ie. BandAids, bandages, antibacterial wipes, pain reliever and hand sanitiser.
🧢 Hat, sunscreen, insect repellent ie: Bushman or Aerogard etc.
🧥 Light raincoat or a poncho just in case of wet weather.
🤩 Great sense of fun and adventure. Good vibes only!

🚆 8.48am train from Central station departs from Platform 8 (Wyong via Strathfield). Arriving at Hawkesbury River station at 9.49am.
