WHALES & WHALES! In June, tens of thousands of humpback whales migrate north from Antarctica to the warm breeding waters of tropical Australia.

BEAUTIFUL WHALE WATCHING WALK:
1. Manly Wharf start, let's hit the road to east manly cove beach, past Manly Yacht Club.
2. "Little Manly Beach" to Little Manly Point Park, good quick pic spot.
3. Collins Flat Track to "Collins Beach", great fun walk section with waterfall then up Collins Beach Road.
4. Interesting fire trail to the "Third Quarantine Cemetery" and North Head Scenic View point. Half way break, snack, drink, rehydrate, bathroom for sure too!
5. "Fairfax Lookout" our first possible whale sighting spot, but even better spots ahead, very high up.
6. Along Fairfax Track, we head to "Yiningma Lookout" that Magic spot for Whale Watching!
7. Memorial Walk takes us to the No1 & No2 Gun Emplacement and then continue to "Hanging Swamp"
8. "The Barracks Precinct" walk takes us past Old Quarry Swamp to Shelly Headland Upper Lookout, whale spotting here also.
9. We head to Shelly Beach walking track to Walking Track Lookout for one more time spotting whales.
10. Shelly Beach next, reaching Marine Parade. then past Fairy Bower Sea Pool at Cabbage Tree Bay!
11. Arriving at Manly Beach, our usual spot at Steyne Hotel for drinks, lunch to finish!

Meeting Point: Manly Wharf Visitors Information Centre (near pedestrian crossing)
Distance: 12.5km

Difficulty: Moderate, steps and hills, classified moderate due to distance.
Walking Pace: An easy steady pace at 4.25km-4.50 per hour.

What to Bring: Comfortable outfit, a litre of water, snacks, hat, sunscreen, a raincoat just in case of wet weather. Bring your happy personality too!
