Queanbeyan to Captains Flat return.
Want to try the road less travelled? This is a 2 day ride. It begins at Queanbeyan, riding to the historic town of Captains Flat, which is 43kms. There is an incline on the 1st day, rising from 600masl to 863masl. The great news is the return trip has plenty of downhill cycling. We will stay in the Captains Flat Hotel, which opened in 1937. When it opened, it had the longest bar in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere.
Please contact Rob Gibson 0452 070 345 or shirebabies@gmail.com ASAP, as the numbers will be limited and accommodation will need to be booked.
There are a number of single, twin bed and double bed rooms available, which I've tentatively reserved until Wed 28th. It will be possible for some to share a room. It's been many years since I've led this ride, so it's a great opportunity to see what was once a thriving mining town.
