Meeting Place: In front of Dapto Station alongside the War Memorial. Arrive by train or car; plenty of parking there. The ride is a loop and so finishes back here.

Sunday 31st May. 9:15 am for a 9:30 start; last pre-winter ride! Should finish by around 3:00 pm. Note: Train leaving Sutherland at 7:56 am arrives Dapto at 9:07 am giving you an opportunity to try out the new Mariyung train.

Ride Description: A picturesque 50 km ride following all the way around Lake Illawarra. It is mainly on shared cycleways through parkland along the lake foreshore plus some quite roads. We will probably stop to enjoy a morning coffee at the Woolshed, Yallah. The lakes entrance at Windang will be our target for an (early) lunch stop but bring something to nibble as we pause to admire the scenery along the way.

Grade, Pace: An easy-moderate/relaxed/low stress ride at 15 to 20 km/hr; largely flat with only a few minor hills. HOWEVER, there is one section of 2 kilometres riding in a breakdown lane alongside the old Princess Highway near Haywards Bay. It is marked as a cycle lane but you will be briefly riding next to 80 km/hr traffic.

Any type of bike in good order is suitable; helmet, water bottle, spare tube and relevant tools, pump etc required.

Ride Leader: Terry Hatton - if you would like to join this ride please contact Terry on 0429702458 or email terence.h@optusnet.com.au
