An AMA for founders (both technical and non-tech) + builders navigating AI-assisted development

🗓️ Tuesday, 24 February
🕦 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
📍 Stone & Chalk, Level 1, 477 Pitt Street, Tech Central, Sydney
đź’˛ Free + includes Lunch - Pizza, Coffee & refreshments provided

Vibe-Coding vs Vibe-Engineering:
AI can help you ship faster than ever… but what exactly are you shipping?
“Vibe-coding” (prompt-first, fast iteration, hacky prototypes) is everywhere right now - especially in early-stage startups trying to get something real in front of users quickly.

But as soon as the product starts getting traction, the questions change:
- How do we make this maintainable?
- How do we stop breaking things every release?
- How do we scale the codebase, the team, and the architecture?

That’s where “vibe-engineering” comes in - the augmented development approach that blends AI acceleration with real engineering discipline: design, testing, system thinking, security, and long-term scalability.

Plus, how this compares today with traditional software development approaches.

In this Lunch & Learn AMA, we’ll unpack the difference between the two - when each approach is useful, where each can go wrong, and how founders + teams can adopt AI-assisted development without building future chaos.

What we’ll cover:
- What “vibe-coding” actually is (and why it’s useful early)
- What “vibe-engineering” looks like in practice (AI + structure)
- When to use which approach: prototype vs MVP vs production
- Risks: tech debt, security gaps, fragile systems, false confidence
- How teams are working today: workflows, tools, guardrails, review patterns

Live AMA: bring your current build blockers, messy codebase questions, and “how would you approach this?” scenarios

Format:
We’ll kick off with a short panel discussion and audience Q&A, then break into smaller groups for deeper conversation, examples, and practical takeaways you can use immediately.

Meet the Panel
Eran Ben-Shahar – CTO / Startup Advisor
Veteran technologist with experience across AI, fintech, transport and defence, including two startup exits. Specialises in translating ambitious ideas into scalable architectures and real-world delivery.

Daniel Le’au – Technology Leader / Advisor
Highly experienced technology leader with decades of hands-on delivery and advisory experience across startups through to large corporates. Known for pragmatic guidance on strategy, roadmaps, architectures and execution.

Lex Kuncevic – Tech Partner / Advisor
Lex is driven by curiosity and an entrepreneurial spirit. He began his journey in software engineering in the late 2000s. In 2011, he led the effort in building the tech behind one of Australia’s largest e-commerce platforms (still running today). Along the way, he discovered how purpose-built technology can solve real business challenges and now leverages it to maximise business value and efficiency.

These days, Lex advises businesses on tech strategy, execution, tech teams development and supports early-stage founders to avoid costly mistakes.

Who should attend?
- Founders building their MVP (or rebuilding it… again)
- Engineers experimenting with AI-assisted workflows
- Product teams trying to ship faster without breaking everything
- CTOs / Tech Leads thinking about scalability, velocity, and quality
- Anyone asking: “Are we moving fast… or just making future problems?”

What you’ll get out of it:
- A clearer mental model of “prototype speed” vs “production engineering”
- Practical patterns for adopting AI without wrecking maintainability
- Real examples of what breaks when teams rely on vibe-coding too long
- Guardrails you can implement next sprint
- Live access to experienced technical leaders in an AMA format

Hosted by Matt Ainsworth (Sales Manager at Tekkon) and proudly supported by Tekkon and Stone & Chalk @ Tech Central (Sydney).
