Let's get out and paddle! This is a BYOK for experienced paddlers and no rentals are available. Please read full details before signing up.

Meeting Spot: Morris Bridge Park opens at 8am and has a $2.00 daily fee. Or your annual Hillsborough County Parks pass will gain you entry. This is the west side of the park where there is an improved launch/ramp and restroom facilities.

Float Plan: We will wet our paddles at 9am so please arrive in enough time to prepare your gear. This is a very scenic & unspoiled section of the Hillsborough River. We'll plan to paddle upriver from Morris Bridge Park to Sargeant Park where we'll take an extended break before returning back downriver to where we started. It's a little over 4 miles each way and expect an approximate 8.5-mile roundtrip.

Update:

The majority of the river is wide and usually easy to paddle but at this time, it is shallow and there maybe be some downed trees along the way. We are also in remote areas. Therefore I am limiting this event to hard shelled kayaks only. It is not suitable for inflatables or paddle boards.

The cooler temperatures mean fewer gators in the water and on the banks but they will stay be present if we're lucky. As always, respect them and give them room. If you're not comfortable with gators, please do not sign up.

Items that you may want to bring; plenty of water, snacks, lunch, a good hat, sunglasses, closed toe shoes or even boots (you know your winter weather preferences), sunscreen, bug repellant, towel. Remember, it's your responsibility to be USCG compliant.

On day of event: text or call me at: 813-713-2492.

Afterwards: Those that are interested. We can replenish spent calories and rehydrate at Glory Days Grill in New Tampa, 17508 Dona Michelle Dr
Tampa, FL 33647.
