Sunshine Social Hike 1/25: Honeybee Canyon 7AM ๐โ๏ธ๐
Letโs enjoy a scenic social hike with ruins and desert views at Honeybee Canyon! We will be hiking the Honeybee Canyon Southern Loop trail (with a few small additions).
This will be an approximately 2.5mile hike with around 200 feet of elevation gain and will take us about an hour and a half to complete. For a social hike, this is shorter with a little bit of rocky incline in parts.
We start in the the trailhead parking lot and make our way south east towards the ruins. After exploring the canyon for a bit, we loop back into the park and we will explore the southern loop before returning to the trailhead. We will not be hiking the wash towards the petroglyphs up north this time, (but feel free to add that yourself after the social hike if youโd like).
We will be starting introductions at 7:00am. After intros, we will begin hiking and return to the parking lot just around 8:45am (having taken our customary group picture at the halfway point, of course ๐)
Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be useful in the rocky parts. This trail is completely exposed.
The weather forecast right now calls for 48 degrees at the start and 51 by the time we finish, quite chilly! I recommend layers.
This is a dog friendly trail ๐ถ
Parking is free - please be careful that some gps takes you to the wrong spotโฆ13880 n rancho vistoso or โhoneybee canyon trailheadโ should get you there.
We will be taking pictures and posting them to our website and our group Facebook page. Thank you for your consent to post by joining our hike.
Way to keep being mindful with your RSVPs! ๐๐ป
Hope to see you out there ๐
Thanks,
Jon Powers
