There's so much awesome in this event it's hard to contain it; It's our second birthday, it's the night before Web Directions 2015, we're at one of Australia's hottest tech companies, and we've got three talks that will make you rethink your CSS.

We'll have some treats for you to eat and drink on the night, but we encourage you to get together with your fellow SydCSSers and grab some dinner before or after the event. Use the hash tag #SydCSS (https://twitter.com/hashtag/sydcss) to see who's out and about.

Please note that this event is on Wednesday. Doors will open at 6:30pm, talks will start around 7:00pm.

Animations, easter eggs, and sneaky DOM manipulation
Chris Doble | @chrisdoble (http://www.twitter.com/chrisdoble)

At Canva they use a bunch of visual effects to make the UI feel fun and responsive. Chris is going to show you some interesting effects a user might experience while signing up and creating their first design. He'll explain how they're implemented in CSS/JS and the rationale behind them.

Chris is a front-end engineer at Canva who likes deleting code more than writing it.

Change is good, even if the outcome isn't
James Coleman | @_ojame (https://twitter.com/_ojame)

It's hard to predict how a different CSS methodology will work in your environment. You can read all you want, but chances are, there will probably be something you didn't account for. What happens if you've invested all this time in converting your team, but you suddenly realise the grass isn't greener? At Macropod we've tried styling our React application in a few ways - here's what we tried and what didn't work, but more importantly, here's why it's okay.

James helps make Bugherd at Macropod. It says 'Senior Developer' on his business card... but he's not professional enough to hand them out.

Julia Mitchelmore | @mitchelmore_j (https://twitter.com/mitchelmore_j)

As developers, it's easy to get excited about the using the latest CSS grid framework or adding a new mixin to our Sass. But we can get so caught up in the code that we forget about the people on whose browser it will load. In this talk, we will explore the fascinating area of User Experience, and examine how some of its techniques can be used in front-end development to spark a love story between your website and the end-user.

Julia is a front-end developer with a love for usability and interaction design who gets to spend her days making awesome websites at Bilue.

Plus one more presenter to be announced...
