our new Wollongong film club is officially launching! Join the True Blue Film Fanatics (TBFF) for our inaugural gathering.

Our local film industry is struggling. We are taking action to support Australian film industry.

With global streaming platforms lobbying against and stalling proposed government rules to enforce a 20% Australian content, often deemed unprofitable to produce local films that audiences don't seek out, leading to less Australian content on screens, and less opportunities for funding local creative talent. Further, independent Australian films often have very limited cinema runs because of low public interest.

Our mission is to be the audience—to consistently watch and discuss Australian movies together at home and, crucially, to pay to see new Australian films in the cinema to show the market that our stories are worth supporting.

Outdoor Movie 🎬 night (Weather dependant)
This will be a casual meet-and-greet at my place followed by a screening of an Aussie classic.

Our inaugural screening is the iconic, heart-warming comedy, The Castle. This beloved film perfectly captures the Australian spirit and sets a relaxed, fun tone for our club's future.

We have a projector ready! If the weather is great, we'll enjoy an outdoor movie night in the courtyard. If it's raining, we'll move the fun indoors to a cozy space. I will supply plenty of cushions and blankets for everyone’s comfort.
