Blackheaths' Western Passes and Pagodas
Details
This walk takes in amazing views of the Kanimbla Valley on the western side of the Great Western Highway near Blackheath in the Blue Mountains.
From Blackheath station, we will visit Fort Rock, Lamberts Lookout, Porters Pass, Colliers Causeway, Centennial Pass, Walls Ledge and Centennial Glen before returning to Blackheath station.
Most of the walking is on the top of the escarpment with stunning views of the valley below. We do drop down to the bottom of the escarpment via Porters Pass to navigate Colliers Causeway and ascend Centennial Pass. (Total descent and ascent is around 100 metres).
TRANSPORT:
Blue Mountains train leaving central at 6:24am and arriving Blackheath station at 8:40am. Return trains leave hourly. Please check for trackwork closer to the event.
DISTANCE: 14Km
DURATION: 4-5hrs
GRADE: Bush tracks, some rough terrain, 100m up hill section.
WHAT TO BRING. Please wear good bushwalking shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, rain jacket, first aid kit, picnic lunch and 2L water.
