Kayak Camp - Kangaroo Valley Weekend Catchup

Join a bunch of central coast kayakers on our annual Kangaroo Valley kayaking weekend. Its a casual get together where we catch up with old friends and meet new ones to paddle with.
The river is our kayak ground. Upstream is a beautiful gorge and eventually some small rapids. A beautiful half day kayak trip.
Downstream the river widens to create more open water expanses with bird and wildlife. This section can be as long as you wish as there are no rapids downstream.
Our first paddle for the weekend is scheduled for Saturday 10:30 am on the water. Its a fun weekend so bring a wig and some fun clothes for a party Halloween paddle.
Have a picnic together afterwards back at the campsite.
The rest of the weekend is impromptu and resolves around paddling each day.
Where: Bendeela Camping & Picnic Area
Set on the banks of the Kangaroo River arm of Lake Yarrunga, Bendeela is a rustic bushland campground known for its resident kangaroos and wombats and open grassy areas perfect for tents and campervans. Facilities are basic with toilets and drinking water available, and gas barbecues are permitted. No fire pits , no electricity provided. Camping is $6 for the weekend and requires advance booking; sites are first-come, first-served. It’s popular for canoeing, fishing, and swimming

How far south from Sydney?
The drive from Sydney to Kangaroo Valley typically takes about 2 hours, covering roughly 150–160 kilometers depending on your exact starting point and route. Weather, traffic, and roadworks can add 10 minutes or more, especially near peak times or on weekends.
What to Bring:
BYO camp gear, cooking gear, food, drinks, kayak & buoyancy vest.
This is just a casual get together with friends.
